What's the difference between an A record and a CNAME?

I'm trying to set up my DNS in the Zone Editor, and I'm confused about when to use an A record versus a CNAME record. Can someone explain it simply?

Hello Amit, great question. Simply put: An **A Record** points a domain name (like `yourdomain.com`) to a specific IP address (like `123.45.67.89`). A **CNAME** (Canonical Name) points a domain name to another domain name (e.g., pointing `www.yourdomain.com` to `yourdomain.com`). You use an A record for the main domain and CNAMEs for subdomains that should go to the same place or to an external service.
